If you like beer bread you will enjoy this Hard Apple Cider Bread.  The hard ciders have been a hit the last few years.  A couple of my favorite ciders are a berry or Pear cider.

Along with the hard apple cider I also added to this bread chopped apple and apple butter.

Bill and I went to the Enon Apple Butter Festival last weekend.  They make the apple butter over an open fire all day long. When the apple butter is done it is brought into a tent where they put it in pint jars.  The line for this apple butter was outrageous.  When I got to the front of the line my jars were still so hot they were hard to carry.  It was worth the wait!

Hard Apple Cider Bread

3 cups flour
1/3 cup white sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
2 tablespoons apple butter
1 bottle hard apple cider ( I used Ace)
1/2 cups pecans, chopped
1 apple, chopped
2 tablespoons butter, softened to grease pan
cinnamon sugar to sprinkle in baking pan

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease loaf pan with softened butter then sprinkle the insides of the pan with cinnamon sugar, set aside

Mix in a bowl with a wooden spoon, flour, sugars, salt , baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, apple butter and hard apple cider until flour mixture is mixed in,

Stir in the chopped apple and pecans just until combined.

Pour bread into pan and bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until knife inserted into center of bread comes out clean.
