We went on our Ghost Walk in the historical downtown area. The historical downtown was beautiful with their old buildings. I love walking around an old downtown area, it gives you the laid back, time moving slow kind of feeling.
Bill and Cally before our Ghost Walk
Many of the buildings had these separate entrances to the upstairs of the storefronts. Most of the building had 3 or 4 floors.
This was our tour guide in the IOOF building
This picture was taken looking down the staircase from inside to the street level below.
I love the old windows in these buildings
This window was in the attic of the IOOF building. It was weird that the window was clear down at the floor
Chillicothe was the first capital city of Ohio before it was moved to Columbus
In this picture you can see outside one of the windows
In this picture you can see something. It looks like light shining through but this was the attic and there was no sun coming into this room. This room gave me the creeps. When I was taking this picture with my phone you could see stuff flying all over the room but you could not see it just looking in the room. I took 3 pictures and they all turned out different and in one of them there is nothing strange at all. I have never felt anything ghostly before but this room really gave me the chills.
This is the Chillicothe Gazette. They know there are ghost in this building as the group
Chillicothe Ohio Paranormal Exploration Society (C.O.P.E.S.) has video that we saw of a ghost and they have also communicated with some ghosts with a flashlight in another downtown building. If you go to C.O.P.E.S. facebook page you can see these videos I am talking about here
We had a good time on our first ghost walk. We especially had a good time getting to experience it with Cally!
In honor of our first ghost walk I have made these ghost pumpkin muffins. I just used my go to pumpkin bread recipe. My favorite way to eat pumpkin bread is to smoother my piece with cream cheese so it was a no brainer that I needed to top these with cream cheese frosting ghost. For the eyes I used mini chocolate chips.
Spooky Pumpkin Muffins & Cream Cheese Frosting
1/2 cup oil
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 1/2 cups flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1 cup pumpkin
1/3 cup water
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line 16 muffin cups with cupcake liners.
Mix together eggs, oil and sugar until fluffy. Add flour, salt, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and allspice mixing until combined. Add pumpkin and water and mix until well blended.
Divide batter into the 16 muffin cups and bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the middle of the muffin. Cool completely before icing cupcakes.
Cream Cheese Frosting
2 cups powdered sugar
4 tablespoons butter, softened
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix all frosting ingredients together until fluffy. If you frost the muffins as normal with a knife you should have enough frosting. If you frost them as I did making them into ghost with a Wilton frosting tip number 2A then you will have enough icing for 6 muffins. When you put the ghost's on the muffins it is a lot of frosting!
