Frozen Bread Dough Monkey Bread



I love being able to start my recipe by just thawing out frozen bread dough!  It's nice not to worry about all the steps to get the dough to this point.

Oh don't get me wrong I love homemade yeast dough but I HATE the task of making it.


So this happened last night during the Cotton Bowl.  Cally came out to the house and had supper with us and watch Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl she ended up staying over because of the snow.  Nice that she did because her and Bill went out and cleaned up the snow off the drive while I baked the Monkey Bread :)


Along with the snow it is suppose to be super cold here over the next several days.  Bill, Cally and I are hoping to go to Hocking Hills sometime while it is cold to see some frozen waterfalls..... if we do I will post some pictures here on the blog for you.



Frozen Bread Dough Monkey Bread

15 frozen yeast dinner rolls
3/4 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup pecans, chopped (optional)
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Put dinner roll dough into a greased 9X13 pan spray tops of rolls with cooking spray and cover with plastic wrap.  Place rolls in a warm place to rise.  It will take about 4 hours for the rolls to thaw out and rise to fill the pan.

After rolls have risen,  Put the butter and sugar into a pan and melt on the stove.  In a greased bundt pan, sprinkle the pecans all around the bottom of the pan.  Pout the melted butter/sugar mixture over the nuts.  set aside

In a small bowl combine the white sugar and cinnamon.  Cut each roll in 4ths and roll each ball of dough in the cinnamon sugar.  Arrange the cinnamon sugared dough balls around the bottom of the pan on top of the melted butter/sugar mixture.

After all the dough is cut, rolled in cinnamon sugar and arranged in the pan,  cover the bundt pan with plastic wrap and set in a warm place for the rolls to rise again,  After the rolls have risen to the top and maybe poked a little out the top of the pan, the rolls are now ready to bake or if you are like me and want to make the rolls for breakfast the next morning, then place them in the refrigerator until morning and bake them when you are ready for breakfast.

Bake rolls in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.  After taking the rolls out of the oven invert the pan onto a platter with sides as the rolls will be gooey.  The gooey nut mixture will run down and over the top of the rolls.


Dough after it has risen for the last time and before I placed it in the refrigerator to bake in the morning.
