Move over Mustard Potato Salad there is a new favorite in town :)

You may have seen that Bill and I had been refinishing our old bar to make a new Island for Cally's kitchen.  Here it is all finished and in her new kitchen

Here is the Island when it was our bar in our old kitchen

We added some new feet to the bottom

Bill then nailed Shiplap to 3 sides of the new Island

Here he is adding the trim pieces

And finally I had it all painted in this picture  (except for the feet, I painted them later)

In this picture Cally was deciding how much hang over she wanted for the top

It turned out super cute and it makes for more storage and counter space for Cally!!

German Potato Salad

6 Potatoes, peeled and sliced
6 pieces bacon, cut into pieces
2 tablespoons Whole grain Dion Mustard
1 tablespoon flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon chives
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1/2 cup water
salt and pepper to taste

Boil potato slices until tender.  While potatoes are boiling.... Fry bacon pieces until crisp.  Remove bacon from skillet.  To the bacon grease in the skillet add the Mustard, flour and sugar.  Cook until bubbly.  Stir in wine vinegar, water, chives, celery seed and onion powder.  Stir until well combined. Remove skillet from the heat and Pour the drained potato slices into the sauce in the skillet.  Stir to coat the potatoes.  If desired garnish with more celery seed and chives.  Salt and pepper to taste.  May be served warm (this is how I like it) or cold.
